Sending Brian aka Jiggs some loot and love!

Hi there! My brother Brian, lovingly known by many as Jiggs, has been receiving medical care at Royal Columbian Hospital for a recently diagnosed brain tumor in the basal ganglia/caudate nucleaus. As you can imagine, we are venturing into unknown territory. We have no previous experience with this type of diagnosis but have witnessed a decline in the cognitive and motor functions of our father, husband, brother, cousin, and friend. He has had one surgery which removed a portion of the tumor along with some of the fluid. Likely, another surgery shortly to help manage the fluid build up. We have not received a care plan yet from the Doctor but are feeling this is going to be a journey of highs and lows.

Jiggs is a hard working, fierce loving caretaker of his family. He is such a proud father of his 5 kids and 3 grand babies. Meaghan and Jiggs will celebrate their 30th Wedding Anniversary later this year. He creates beautiful cedar woodwork projects in his backyard just for the love of it. He always makes time for a visit and loves to laugh and eat delicious home cooked food. He has acknowledged his own shortcomings and works at building spiritual connections to the land and his ancestral roots. He always is the first to say I love you.

It is Jiggs turn to receive some of love he has shared with so many. As he was the sole income earner, this diagnosis will most definitely impact his and Meaghan’s journey. Meaghan has been a ROCK for Jiggs and has lovingly slept in a chair by his bedside during his hospital stay. We are feeling he will need her support and daily care to manage the symptoms and navigate his care.
