Teamsters Mobilize is going to the 2026 Labor Notes conference, from June 12-14 in Chicago, IL! We need your help to make that happen.
The Labor Notes conference is the largest regular gathering of union activists in the US, and it is a very important opportunity for us to spread our ideas, learn lessons from fellow rank-and-file workers in the labor movement, and meet other militants with whom we can lay the foundation to work together moving forward. We are planning to send several TM members this year, and it is going to be a jam-packed weekend of networking, agitating, debating, and building camaraderie!
Even though the official Labor Notes outlet puts out reformist messaging that we in TM don't agree with (for example, they repeated Sean O'Brien's claim that the 2023 UPS-Teamsters contract was a "historic victory," and have generally supported SOB just like TDU has), there are going to be thousands of workers at the conference who earnestly want to wage a fierce struggle against the bosses. It is super crucial that we make every effort to link up with these folks!
TM will also be participating in an independent gathering (that same weekend in Chicago) of organized militant groupings across a number of different unions, in support of a working class program for advancing the US union movement. In these sessions, we will discuss the strategic questions and challenges facing us as we fight to transform our unions and kick out the class-collaborationist leaders who are currently in control of them. More info to be published soon; reach out via social media or email if you are interested in getting involved!
Your donation will go first and foremost towards directly subsidizing the food, lodging, and transportation costs of TM members who want to attend the conference but will be unable to do so without any supplementary financial support. We will allocate any remaining funds towards the cost of printed materials, as well as towards supporting the activities of the cross-union militants' coalition.
ABOUT US:
Teamsters Mobilize is a grassroots organization of Teamsters activists organizing to build up real worker power in our union against our employers and their cronies, to expose corrupt Teamsters leadership, and to build brick-by-brick a genuine fighting labor movement. In 2022, we formed as a caucus of UPS part-timers — a historically neglected classification by both the company and Teamsters leadership, who have borne the brunt of divide-and-rule tactics for far too long.
We reject the myth that workers and employers can exist together harmoniously, and believe that our unions should be fighting tooth and nail for our interests against employers. However, too many union officers use their positions to benefit themselves and see their union members as a group to be manipulated, ignored, or controlled. We see this in our own union and across the labor movement, and we refuse to accept it. In order to change this, we will expose and oppose collaboration between Teamsters leadership and our employers, as well as the rest of the ruling class (including not just the CEOs, but the government, Wall Street, and corporate media), whose riches come dripping from the sweat and blood of the working class.
