Send Randy Gonce to Standing Rock!

Thank you to everyone whose generous donations of money and gear/equipment made it possible for Randy to help the water protectors. Due to elders telling newcomers not to come to Standing Rock because of blizzard-like conditions, Randy went to Flint Michigan first to do recon where veterans are planning to converge next. Airfare was supposed to be provided, but never actually materialized. This is how the $2,500 previously raised was spent.
800 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) - face shields, body armor, & other gear
900 Airfare from Honolulu to Flint Michigan to Bismarck North Dakota
250 Baggage fees to transport gear and PPE to Standing Rock
250 Car rental at Flint and 4x4 vehicle rental at Standing Rock
2200 Total Spent to Date
Randy managed to get in touch with Ed Higgins -- veteran on the ground coordinating efforts at Standing Rock. In addition to PPE and other gear, Ed asked Randy to bring firewood, propane tanks and stoves, and a 4x4 vehicle to haul material. There are also requests from the camp to bring food, tire chains, construction/building materials. Now that weather conditions are forecast to improve Randy is going to Standing Rock to deliver these materials and help whatever way he can.
There are so many good causes that need our support – I know it is difficult to give especially this time of year. But if you are able to, can you help to raise another $1,000? Randy will use the money to buy the additional supplies requested by Ed Higgins and to purchase airfare for his return flight to Honolulu. It would mean the world to the veterans and water protectors at Standing Rock to get these materials/supplies. No donation is too small. Mahalo for your kokua!
