Hello family and friends!
I am excited to announce that I am going to Vietnam for a 2-week medical mission trip in July 2018 with the Good Samaritan Medical and Dental Ministry (www.gsmdm.org). We will be providing free medical services to those with limited access to healthcare living in the Cao Bang province. Thousands of patients will walk through our clinic to receive professional help from our team of physicians, surgeons, nurses, dentists, optometrists, pharmacists, and student volunteers. I am looking forward to being a part of the pharmacy team, in which I will assist in transporting, organizing, and dispensing vital medications.
~ Why fundraise? ~
The total cost of this mission trip is estimated to be $2,200 per person and includes airfare, training, and lodging and food in Vietnam. A portion of this will also go towards providing medical supplies for our work in Vietnam. This is a hefty amount to cover by myself and I am currently aiming to fundraise 80% of the costs. Please consider donating towards this cause--I would be so grateful for any support!
~ Why medical missions? ~
Over the past few years, I have been given many experiences and opportunities that I know I could have never obtained myself. Including a job that has allowed me to shadow physicians in various healthcare settings and given me connections that led to an opportunity in 2016 to go to South America to teach ultrasound techniques in a local hospital; the ability to pursue my Masters degree in cellular and molecular HIV research; and an experience of suffering that I might learn the necessity of compassion and empathy in care-giving with my father's cancer. All of these experiences, coupled with a growing heart for hurting and broken people around the world, have pushed me to take this leap of faith and go on this mission.

It has been a personal burden and joy to finally take steps towards fulfilling a calling that I believe God has been guiding me towards over the past few years-- which is to bring physical and spiritual healing through modern medicine and the Gospel to people in developing countries. With that said, I am so humbled by this opportunity to travel to Vietnam to serve and love people that I know will challenge and teach me in many ways. It will be a long and strenuous trip, but I know it will be worth it. With that said, I am very excited for what lays ahead, yet I am also quite anxious. Thank you so much for taking your time to read a bit of my story. I hope you are willing to partner with me to see healing happen in Vietnam.
