SEND provision for New Addington Children

Hi, my name is Venessa I am currently running afew autism and SEND Summer Holiday provisions at New Addington Leisure Centre for Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The Croydon Holiday and Acitivities program has attracted an increase of SEND families attending with their sibilngs.

We are seeking to extend the hours to a later finish to accommodate the later visitors and to cover for additional sessions and activities.

As a parent of young autistic and ADHD adults and a 4 year old grandon (no SEND needs) I a lived experience of the lack of specialist provision within the holidays and have seen the increase and demands for SEND families in the New Addington Area. We do not want to turn away families who have children who are non-free school meals with SEND as many are stilll needing support.

The funds will help us to continue running the SEND Summer Provision after the 19th August, when is our last day.

We have seen new friendships form, families grateful for the range of activities that we have put on so far addditional swimming, bouncy castles, soft play, Oxygen freejumping, Kidspace, pan-disability sports with Metrosports Ltd and MovementWorks and a range of other activities over the next four weeks.

Our plans is to run session at least two extra days until 5pm and possibility until 8pm for the later starters and a film club with Cinema for All providing age appropriate films.

This will help so many so many families within the New Addington and surrounding area.
