Send is a village under pressure, and we need your help to defend it in the High Court, for the second time.

In 2024, Guildford Borough Council approved five houses at 94 Potters Lane, right by the River Wey Conservation Area, ignoring its own Conservation Officer's warning of harm. Send Parish Council took the council to Judicial Review and won on every ground. The permission was quashed, and Guildford was ordered to pay our costs.

But while that case was still live, the same developer resubmitted a near-identical scheme. Guildford approved it again in March 2025, ignoring over 40 objections. We've now been granted permission to challenge this second decision at the High Court, with a hearing date of 15 October 2026.

This case isn't Send versus the developer. It's Send Parish Council versus Guildford Borough Council, and it's about making sure planning committees are given the full facts and actually follow their own policies before approving development on sensitive land.

It's bigger than one site, too. In July 2026, Guildford approved another 140 homes at Alderton's Farm despite unresolved concerns over Green Belt policy and school places. Since 2019, Send has already absorbed 843 approved homes, nearly 8% of the whole borough's housing supply in a single village. National planning rules have also just been relaxed, making it harder for councils to say no and easier for developers to push schemes through.

We need £12,500 to cover barristers' fees and High Court costs. That's just 500 people giving £25 each. Every donation helps us hold Guildford Borough Council to account, not just at Potters Lane, but wherever the next threat to Send appears.
