SEND Pavilion refresh (Aldenham Country Park)

About us

We’re Sophie and Gila – two mums to incredible neurodivergent children. When we visited the SEND Pavilion with our kids, we immediately saw its potential - that it could be both a play-space and a welcoming haven where SEN children and teens can simply be themselves, free from judgement.

That’s why we reached out to the park’s management team to offer our help in transforming the SEND Pavilion into a vibrant, inclusive space – one that young people want to come to for weekend and holiday sessions.

To bring this vision to life, we’re kindly asking for donations. Your generosity will help us update and bring to life three fantastic sensory rooms, purchase (often expensive) sensory equipment, comfy furniture, and stock up on everyday supplies like arts and crafts materials that need regular replenishing.

About the SEND Pavilion

The SEND Pavilion at Aldenham Country Park is a purpose-built facility designed for members of the SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) community to enjoy.

The Pavilion Hall features a variety of craft and play equipment, along with three fully-equipped breakout sensory rooms to support different needs and experiences.

The Pavilion and the adjacent Adventure Playground are open on weekends, bank holidays, school half-terms and holidays. During these opening times, the 9:00am – 11:00am Adventure Playground timeslot is reserved exclusively for SEND families, ensuring a welcoming and inclusive environment.

The park is managed by Aldenham Renaissance Community Interest Company and are pleased to be working with a group of interested parents engaging community involvement to improve the facility.

Aldenham Country Park have always been very supportive of the SEND community and have continued to offer the facility at a reduced/discounted rate to make it as accessible to as many families as possible. Without your support it makes running the pavilion impossible.
