Send Leila to Washington D.C. to stop kid cancer

Donation protected
Help us raise $4,000 to send Leila to Washington D.C. on behalf of Parents Against Santa Susana Field Lab. Leila and her family will represent our community at the SAFE "Scientists, Activists, and Families for SAFE Environments" EPA protest on September 20th. They'll also be meeting with California senators and Congress Members to advocate for the full cleanup of the Santa Susana Field Lab.

In 2018, the Woolsey Fire broke out at the Santa Susana Field Lab. According to an independent study, at least 2% of the smoke and ash from the fire was radioactive, and it spread across Los Angeles and Ventura County. Leila's house was filled with smoke from the Woolsey Fire. In 2021, Leila was diagnosed with a rare and incredibly aggressive brain tumor, glioblastoma, which is often fatal. She was a junior in High School. Her mom believes that the radioactive smoke caused Leila's brain tumor.

When Leila goes to Washington D.C., she'll be the face of our community to show our elected officials that we're not statistics. We're real people who are hurt by dangerous contamination. By advocating for the complete cleanup, she'll help protect other children from cancer and illness caused by the Santa Susana Field Lab.

Please donate generously to help send Leila and her family to Washington D.C.

P.S. if you'd prefer to make your donation tax-deducitble, you can donate through our website instead. Your funds will still go to Leila's trip.
