Send L&C Law Students to Dilley, TX

Donation protected
Help send Lewis & Clark Law students to the South Texas Family Detention Center to volunteer with detained women and children!

Over Spring Break, a group of students will once again be traveling to Dilley, Texas to volunteer with the CARA Pro Bono Project. CARA provides pro bono assistance to women and children incarcerated in family detention. Students will help with the following work:

- Client intake and preparation
- Researching and drafting motions and declarations
- Bond proceedings
- Credible fear interviews
- Providing protection to the women and children against the harsh conditions of the facility

Students will spend a full week (Sunday, March 26th - Friday, March 31st) volunteering on the ground.

Because each student traveling to Dilley will be self-financing airfare, hotel stay, and other incidentals, we are trying to raise enough money to reimburse as much of those expenditures as we possibly can. All donated funds will be disbursed directly to students who have already booked their own travel.

If you have any questions about this campaign or our volunteer efforts with CARA, feel free to send us a message at [email redacted].
