Send Kev to Kenya
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Rev Richard Hare, and I'm raising funds to send Kev Oldfield to Kenya for two weeks in 2024 as part of a volunteers' trip for the wonderful charity TABS International (UK Registered Charity No 1120148). TABS supports a primary school in Kiandutu slum in Thika, Kenya, and is educating 400 children who would otherwise miss out on schooling altogether. On the volunteers' trip we'll be visiting the children, painting, building - doing whatever is needed to help the school thrive. We're also planning to visit the site that TABS has recently bought that will become a secondary school, so the children can move on in their education.
I'd love Kev to come on the trip too. Having experienced poverty and homelessness himself, his life has turned around since joining Emmanuel Church Bridlington where I'm the vicar. He gives hours of his time cooking meals and baking scones for all sorts of people who come here. Kev says that helping the children in Kenya will be his chance to give something back, but I think it will be life-changing for him too.
We need to raise about £2,000, which will cover the cost of his visa, jabs, flights, internal travel, accommodation and a contribution to the school itself. Any gifts you make here will be paid into the church account at Emmanuel Bridlington and withdrawn to pay the expenses when they become due. Surplus funds will be paid to TABS International to support the school. If Kev isn't able to raise the amount he needs or is unable to join the trip for any reason, all funds raised will be sent to TABS International.
Thank you for any donations you're able to give.
