Dear friends dedicated to peace in the Middle East,

I extend my heartfelt gratitude to each of you for your unwavering commitment to fostering understanding and harmony in our world. My name is Jordan Hackworth, both an American Jew and a seeker of healing and connection.

In the wake of recent events, particularly those of October 7th, I found myself grappling with profound sorrow and a deep sense of unrest. As a member of the Jewish community, these events struck a chord within me, prompting a soul-searching journey for solace and purpose amidst the chaos.

It is with this resolve that I now embark on a mission of healing—to offer my time and efforts as a volunteer in the sacred land of Israel. My aim is simple yet profound: to humanize the current situation by sharing stories from individuals of Christian, Muslim, and Jewish backgrounds living in Israel today, and to report them right back to YOU.

The recent turbulence has left an indelible mark on my spirit, challenging my sense of identity and belonging. Yet, within this darkness, I have discovered a flicker of hope—a calling to reconnect with my roots, faith, and community in Israel. For me, this journey is not merely a physical voyage; it is a pilgrimage of the soul—an opportunity to find healing, purpose, and renewal in the land of my ancestors.

Through volunteering, I seek to honor the resilience of the Israeli people, regardless of their faith or origin. I wish to pay homage to those who have suffered and contribute to the ongoing narrative of hope and perseverance in the region. I believe deeply in unity, a belief instilled in me from childhood visits to Israel. The recent divisiveness has been soul-crushing and terrifying, yet I remain steadfast in my conviction that unity is achievable.

I am honored to have been accepted into a remarkable volunteer program in Israel, but I cannot undertake this journey alone. I humbly reach out to you, my cherished friends, for support in making this endeavor possible.
