My name is Maribel Ameida Alonso. I am creating this campaign for my friend Dennis Duane Mason, whom I nicknamed Pops. He reminds me of my dad. Long story short, I happen to be autistic, have epilepsy, and permanent brain damage. He's been helping me get to my appointments for a couple years now. I'm on Medicaid. He takes me to all my appointments. I have never received any mileage reimbursement from Medicaid for any of my appointments to pay him gas money. He is an amazing man. He is a Marine, served during Vietnam, decorated, is 74 years old, has his own health problems, and is on a fixed income, and does this for me in spite of he is facing. He will be taking me taking me tomorrow to another appointment, then to a few for in June. I would just like to get him some gas money is all. He served this country, helps me so much, he is a great friend, and just an amazing soul. He has never received his agent orange compensation, had to have surgery last year and is still recovering.
