Hey! I'm so glad you're here. Those that have known me for a while may remember that I used to raise money to purchase winter garments for Toronto's homeless population. In my previous job, I was able to purchase these garments at discounted rates. Unfortunately, I no longer have access to those prices but I still wanted to use what resources I have to help give back. That's why this year I am raising money for the Red Cross Mobile Food Bank.

For the last 3 months I have been doing my student placement at the Red Cross' Meals on Wheels service in Etobicoke. Out of this same facility the Red Cross operates a mobile food bank serving clients in the city who have accessibility or mobility issues who may otherwise not be able to receive groceries.

Food insecurity in Toronto is at an all time high. In 2025 the city's food banks saw over 4 million visits, and with the continued rising costs of living that number shows no signs of decreasing. In an ideal world we would not need programs like the Red Cross Mobile Food Bank, but at present it is a vital lifeline in helping our communities stay healthy and well through challenging circumstances.

I will be collecting donations until December 30th. You can donate cash in person at one of my upcoming trivia nights: December 17th 6:30pm at C'est What (67 Front st. E.) and December 29th 7:00pm at WVRST (609 King st. W.). Please do not bring canned donations as I have no way of transporting these items. Sorry!

Remember that no donation is too small, any amount helps. We are stronger when we work together, each and every one of us has the capacity to make an impact.
