Seeking Justice: Cara's IJM Internship

Donation protected
Dearest Family and Friends,

Hard to believe I am in the final semester of my graduate program with Boston College’s School of Social Work! Beginning in January, I have the privilege to be joining International Justice Mission (IJM) at their headquarters in Washington DC as an intern on their Global Justice Solutions team. I have been praying for and following this organization since my undergraduate years and am honored to now be working with them. Please take a moment to read about IJM, what I’ll be doing and how you can be a part of this journey!

What is IJM ?
International Justice Mission (IJM) is the largest anti-slavery organization in the world. Inspired by God's call to love all people and to seek justice, IJM is a non-profit Christian human rights agency. The mission of IJM is to protect the poor from violence by rescuing victims, bringing the criminals to justice, restoring survivors to safety and strength and helping local law enforcement build a safe future that lasts.
For more information visit https://www.ijm.org

What will I be doing?
In this role, I will be serving 40 hours a week from January through May. I will be working to develop Centers of Excellence for aftercare, survivor voice, prosecution, and internal learning. I will be partnering with IJM to produce consistent global standards and products that fully equip staff and partners to work in a trauma-informed manner through research and monitoring and evaluation of IJM’s programs.

How can you help?
Pray. Your prayers are so valuable to me in my personal/ professional journey as I enter into this internship. Please pray for a smooth transition to DC from Boston, that the Lord would continue to reveal his vocational call on my life and that He would continue to strengthen my relationships with my fiancé and family at a distance.

Financial Support. If you feel led to give, IJM suggests support raising of $5000 during my unpaid internship to fund housing, transportation, and other costs of living while in Washington, D.C. Any excess funds beyond what is used to cover the basic cost of living will be given directly to IJM to fund their programs. Please contact me directly if you have another way you would like to give.

Thank you for the abundance of love and care from you all!

With joy,
Cara
