Seeing Though Our Hearts: Sadaya & Family
Donation protected
As many of you may know, I am a mother to an 11 year old girl with a disability named Sadaya. Specifically, Sadaya was born with a condition called "septo-optic dysplasia" which caused her optic nerve to be underdeveloped. In Sadaya's case, this has caused her to be completely blind. The diagnosis itself, shattered me. I cried every single day for 3 years onward. I was a single mom throughout Sadaya's entire life. The only support team I had was some family and a handful of friends, and a large team of medical professionals in which I confided in, alot. I’ve always felt like I was unable to speak of our journey as if I was meant to be silenced. It has been mentally, physically, and emotionally draining for me throughout the years because I have always been on my own. I've had jobs throughout the years, and currently, but honestly, I have always struggled financially. I live paycheck to paycheck and literally have to decide which is more important? Bills or food? I would never change what we’ve gone through as it has made us stronger and built us to become who we are today. I have always let my pride come in the way of creating a fundraiser like this because of the judgement from everyone around me. I have always been ashamed of asking for help. I ultimately created a way to reach out to the world and find my own support team on Instagram @sadayapaige to meet other families going through what I was going through- parenting a child with Septo-optic Dysplasia which gained alot of recognition. We've created a name for our support team who became more like family to us who we call, "Sadaya's Fairies." Sadaya and I share our journey on social media and have inspired and motivated many people all over the entire world. Many of Sadaya's Fairies have asked how they could help simply to see Sadaya smile since Sadaya projects alot of LOVE to the world around her. Sadaya's Fairies have encouraged us tremendously, to create a fundraiser to get the help we need and deserve to relieve me and my family of any financial stress and worries. Your donations will help us with any bills, utilities, housing, transportation, assistive devices to help improve my daughter's quality of life. No matter the size of your donation, we thank you. BE MAGICAL!
