Hi, my name is Kin. I am raising funds to be able to go see my birth family in Colombia. Nineteen years ago, I was taken away by Colombian authorities at the age of five and placed into the foster care system. I was then put up for adoption and was adopted by a family here in America. Since being taken away from them at age five, I have lost contact with them.

In November of 2020, I was able to find my family on Facebook and was able to reconnect with my parents and siblings through Facebook Messenger. Since then, Covid started, and it delayed the process of me being able to see them. I also had a daughter during that time and could not plan a time to see them.

Now that everything is somewhat back to normal, I would love to visit them in February of 2023. I learned that my father is getting ill, and it would be a dream for me to be able to see him as soon as possible. I am doing this fund because I need help with the overall trip cost. I have six siblings, mom, dad, stepdad and nieces. The total would be 12 of us.

I also found out my nephew who is four months old, has an eye condition that requires surgery. This fund would also help pay for what is need to get his little eye fixed.

Unfortunately, since they live in one of the most dangerous parts of Colombia, (Tibu), I cannot visit them where they live. I would have to fly them to a safe city and meet them there.

These funds will help with their flight tickets, hotel stay for 11 nights, food and activities.

My family is very poor and has never been outside their village, so it would mean the world to them and me.

For 19 years, I have dreamt of one day seeing my family. And I cannot believe it is finally happening.
