Hi, my name is Ivy Stuart and I worked for Modo Yoga Minneapolis, in the restaurant called Seed Plant Based Cafe. My coworkers and I, left Seed in solidarity with the survivors.
A co-owner was charged with historic sexual assault, and since then more people have come forward with their stories of sexual harassment by this same person over the years.
Seed, in an unfortunate repetition of their abuses of power, has neglected to give us any severance pay, furloughing without notice. At this moment in time we could all use help to aid in healing from this communal trauma. Personally I’ve never asked for financial assistance from anyone, and it is the irresponsible actions of ownership that has placed myself and my former coworkers in this position.
The goal we have set was calculated amongst what we believe to be the staffs income for a months time. In no way are we looking for profit, just assistance to not lose housing, afford medical necessities, and groceries, while we continue to find new jobs.
Any funds that are not 100% a necessity for the former staff will be given to Queer Space Collective, and/or to shelters that provide safety from sexual assault and violence.
Any help is greatly appreciated, and I wish whoever is reading this, to be well.
Thank you.
