Rowing is tough. It’s cold, it’s hard, and it demands resilience. But at Henley Rowing Club, we know that’s exactly why it matters. Since 1839, we’ve been shaping young rowers into determined individuals—teaching teamwork, grit, and the joy of that perfect stroke.

We’re the only local club with a junior division, and our athletes don’t just row—they go on to represent GB, win scholarships, and carry these lessons into life. Our doors are open to all, from first-time rowers to seasoned competitors, creating a community that thrives on the river together.

A Club at a Crossroads

For nearly two centuries, we’ve been at the heart of Henley’s rowing tradition. But today, our future is uncertain:

Outgrown our space – juniors are training off-site, and we can’t expand our outreach to schools.

Outdated facilities – no wheelchair access, inadequate changing rooms.

Limited financial sustainability – our current setup prevents us from generating crucial income.

Building a Rowing Club for the Future
