Hello My name is Jan, and I am a Co-Founder of the PIP Action Campaign.

PIP Action Campaign is a volunteer-led group based primarily on social media. All of us involved have been directly affected by fraudulent PIP silicone breast implants, and the campaign has grown from shared experience, evidence-gathering, and long-term persistence, with no institutional or financial support.

For more than 14 years, we have been documenting and challenging the handling of the PIP breast implant scandal. This has involved gathering published scientific research, regulatory material, clinical findings, and the lived experiences of women affected — often in circumstances where official records are incomplete, inaccessible, or absent.

Much of this work has been carried informally: through personal document archives, correspondence, and long-term memory built up over years of engagement with clinicians, researchers, regulators, parliamentarians, and affected women. While this approach has allowed the campaign to continue, it is no longer adequate as the work moves toward Parliamentary scrutiny and the possibility of formal Public Inquiry processes.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to secure the evidence base in a way that is durable, accessible, and fit for public accountability.

Funds raised will be used to:

• build a structured, long-term evidence database capable of holding and cross-referencing more than a decade of published research and regulatory material;

• upgrade and stabilise the campaign website so that core materials remain accessible and suitable for reference by journalists, lawyers, MPs, and inquiry teams;

• reduce reliance on fragile platforms and individual memory, and ensure continuity of the record over time.

There are no salaries, no consultants, and no administrative overheads associated with our social-media-based campaign. Contributions and donations will be used solely to secure and preserve the evidence that underpins accountability for women harmed.

The campaign exists because of shared knowledge, testimony, and persistence. This fundraiser is about ensuring that record is protected — not just for the present moment, but for the justice and accountability we all deserve.
