secure our nest

Please Family, help my family secure our nest. I am a mama bird supporting a family of 6 including myself. Help us achieve our goal by the FB fundraising end date of December 29 - IN HONOR OF MY DAD'S 90TH BIRTHDAY, WHICH IS ON DEC 28TH.

We have been through so many changes the past few years and recalibrating to a different definition of family life. - Separation & divorce, my turning-90-y.o. Dad moving in with us two summers ago (he has dementia), my 34-y.o. brother Pat moving in with us this past January (he has autism and mental disabilities due to brain damage from being a preemie & has been living in a group home for the past 12 years), a family friend living with us and helping out for two years before it ran its course; going from having Mom *always* being available to the kids, to Mom is 'always working,' striving to find that Work/Life balance....

Here we are now, healing ourselves and our home, growing into our best expression of ourselves. I am pushing through the very last phases of a divorce Refi, to get the house solely into my name. I have busted my tail and done everything the lender has asked, and it has been a ridiculous, drawn-out process, with the stress of not knowing for years if we would be able to remain in our Home. Thankfully, I found a wonderful lender at Quicken who has become an ally dedicated to helping us make this happen despite circumstances beyond my control draggging it out through 4 different iterations of what this loan 'looks like'.

Since two of my children are Highly Sensitive and have been significantly impacted by this situation for years, they attend a small private school where their emotional needs are met. The school has given us the best possible financial package they can, and yet it has been a significant challenge, sometimes impossible, to make my portion of the monthly payments of $550. I am carrying the household on my own, and every month, it has been a challenge to pay all the bills, but somehow we always pull through.

As I am a small business owner, and am the Primary Caregiver, I have been relying on the kindness of friends helping to care for my family, either by bartering, or by paying a stipend for their help, significantly below standard rate. It's not sustainable. At the moment, I AM FLYING SOLO HERE. I have no caregivers helping at the moment, and it has really been affecting my bottom line, because there are only so many hours in a day, and people have to eat and bathe, and be driven places, the house has to be cleaned, and laundry has become excessive because my Dad has become incontinent... And in between, I tending to my business, marketing, promos, etc, but that time is really being eaten into by being Everything to Everyone....

It's a LOT. And I am not complaining. I am grateful to be anchored in my mindfulness practice and my work; despite the chaos, I am generally at Peace. But this is why I'm asking for your help, which is not easy for me, as a fiercely independent Scorpio, to do.

My dad and brother receive benefit money, which does not even cover the amount that is actually needed to provide for and engage them properly. I am working on going through the routes of help offered by the county, state, and the Veteran's Administration, to increase their benefits & services. I am making headway for funding, and assignment of a home health aide, in addition to getting Pat's Medicaid waiver which will pay for some additional services for him, but it is not a quick process.

At the moment, what I really need is to be able to pay one to three people to cover a minimum of 40 hours a week x $15/hr, which is $600/week. Truly, to give my business and my children the time and attention that's needed, I need 55-60 hours a week of coverage, which costs $825-900/week.

I am now in my third year of my healing arts business (theBoundlessLife.net) and it's going really well, but my income alone is not sustaining us yet. Once we get through the Refi and I am finally secure in knowing we will be able to stay in our home, and I get more help in place, I will be making some moves with my business that are game-changing and will elevate my financial situation to the next level.

As we look to close this loan before the New Year, the lenders may want to see that I have a good cushion of a couple thousand in the bank, and I could be looking at needing to bring about $1,000 to closing, although my lender is going to try and reduce that significantly. Currently, the cushion in the bank is at its bare minimum of $500, and I am still pulling together funds for this month's bills.

Help me bridge this gap. I believe strongly that my financial situation a year from now will be quite different. My family would so greatly appreciate your support as we push through this transition.

Your generosity will help to fund:

• School tuition for Adobe & Diin - $5550 for the year, plus building college funds

• Care for my almost-90-yo father and 33-yo brother, and the kids (between $600 & 900 / week!)

• Improvements to our home to create a safe, adequate space for my family of 6. Ideally, I would like to do a renovation so everyone has their space, plus accommodations for a live-in caregiver, which will be needed soon as my father's age progresses. I foresee this realistically costing a bare minimum of $30,000, to upwards of $100,000, depending on what is feasible. Since I had to complete this Separation of Property by Refi, I don't know how soon I will be able to turn around and get a home improvement loan, but the need is rather urgent.

• Safety net in the event of emergencies & unexpected occurrences. Would like to have a minimum of $5,000 in the bank, not to be touched unless absolutely necessary.

With your help, I can feel secure in our little nest here, knowing that as I push into the next phase of success with my career, each month I will be able to pay all our bills, pay for my family's care, and even build up the savings for emergencies and tuition. Thank you so much for your time, consideration, and generous donations. Every little bit helps! No amount is too small, or too large.
