We’re reaching out today because we need your help to cover the legal fees required to officially adopt our daughter, Kaley. ❤️

Kaley has been a part of our family for the past 6 months, but in our hearts, it feels like she’s been with us her entire life. From the moment she came into our home, it was like everything clicked into place — she didn’t miss a beat. To me and Brandon, she’s always been our daughter.

Kaley, now 16, was previously adopted at the age of 13. Sadly, that placement wasn’t the right fit. When she came to us, it wasn’t by chance — it was a divine alignment. Our home became her home, and our hearts became her safe place.

However, due to unforeseen circumstances, DSS (Department of Social Services) became involved. Because Kaley was originally in DSS custody from age 5 before her first adoption, they stepped in and questioned the current arrangement. Although an agreement was signed for her to live with us, DSS didn’t recognize it as official and even considered returning her to their custody.

We were devastated. Kaley was not abandoned — she was placed in a loving home where she is safe, supported, and surrounded by unconditional love.

Thankfully, DSS saw that our home is exactly where Kaley belongs. But their hands were tied legally, and the only way to ensure Kaley stays with us permanently is through a formal adoption process — one that comes with legal fees we weren’t prepared for.

We never imagined we’d need to come up with this amount of money so quickly, but life has thrown us this unexpected hurdle. And we’re determined to overcome it for Kaley. She deserves the security and peace of knowing she is officially and forever a Boone.
