Secure Ellie’s Loving and Nurturing Environment with Kaitlyn

Hi everyone,

My name is Kaitlyn, and I’m reaching out during a very difficult and emotional time. I’m currently in the middle of a legal custody case involving my daughter, Elliana, and I’m asking for your support—emotionally, prayerfully, and if possible, financially.

This may come as a surprise to many, especially those who have witnessed what once appeared to be a cooperative, healthy and supportive co-parenting relationship. I, too, believed we had a shared understanding and mutual respect when it came to parenting our daughter. I’ve spent years planning and preparing for a better future for us—one that includes a new job opportunity and a move that offers long-term stability and growth for Elliana and me.

Unfortunately, what was once supported has now become contested. I’m now in a legal battle to secure primary physical custody of my daughter so that I can continue providing the daily consistency, care, and structure she has always known and thrives on.

I want to be clear: this fight isn’t about keeping Elliana from her father. In fact, I’ve proposed a thoughtful, balanced parenting plan that gives him meaningful time with her—including monthly visits (which I would help cover the cost of), rotating holidays, extended breaks, and the entire summer vacation. I’ve offered solutions that put our daughter first. Unfortunately, all of this was rejected.

One of the hardest parts of this entire process is that my daughter’s voice doesn’t get the weight it deserves. She is young, but she’s also incredibly aware and expressive. She’s been vocal, consistent, and clear about where she feels safe, supported, and happiest—and that’s with me. She’s extremely excited about this next chapter and doesn’t want to be separated from the emotionally nurturing environment, routine, and person she knows best. I believe her feelings should matter in this process and they haven’t been considered in the slightest.  

I’ve been her steady parent from the beginning—present for the daily routines, medical care, school needs, and emotional support. I’m not trying to eliminate anyone from her life—only to ensure that the nurturing foundation she’s grown up with remains intact.

I understand some may question this effort, even going so far as to say, “If you can’t afford a lawyer, how can you afford a child?” But let’s be realistic—most people aren’t financially prepared for a custody battle. In today’s economy, legal proceedings like this are an unexpected, overwhelming expense. Financial support is not the most important factor in raising a child, and it has never been the foundation of my motherhood. What matters most is love, consistency, presence, emotional support, and the ability to meet a child’s needs in every way that truly matters. I’m doing everything I can to manage and asking for help doesn’t make me any less capable—it makes me human and committed to doing whatever it takes to stand for my child.

This fundraiser is about securing the legal support needed to protect my daughter’s best interests. Every contribution—large or small—will go directly toward legal fees and resources to ensure that Elliana’s future remains secure, loving, and stable.
