Secure Chase's Forever Home with Your Help

Meet Chase, my (future) nephew.

Chase was born into a great deal of uncertainty. His father was absent. His mother was wrestling through personal struggles and unable to care for him, and he was staring at a potential life in the Virginia foster care system. My older sister, Leah, and her husband heard of Chase's situation and believed the Lord wanted them to take him in as part of their family. Chase has been part of our family for two years now, and his birth mother has recently decided that making Chase a permanent part of our family is what is best for Chase! We are overjoyed and grateful to the Lord and looking forward to all He will do in and through Chase's life in the days to come.

I am raising $13,000 to cover the remaining legal fees for this private adoption. Any funds received above and beyond that amount will go toward investing in Chase's future health and educational expenses, so please feel free to give more as the Lord leads.

I would especially like to ask for prayers for Chase. That one day he will know the love of the Lord, and that his life will be filled with His favor. Please pray for my sister Leah and her husband Lewis. Pray for them as they raise and care for Chase as the Lord leads them. Please also pray for Chase's birth mother. Pray for her good, and for the Lord to provide all that she needs for her flourishing.

Thank you for praying and considering being a part of making Chase a permanent part of our family.

A letter from my sister, Leah

My name is Leah Quesenberry, and with my husband Lewis and our six children, we call Christiansburg, Virginia home. Two years ago, God brought a special boy, Chase, into our lives through an extraordinary journey.

In 2021, I joined a Bible study group at our church, where I formed a close bond with Chase’s grandmother. We prayed fervently for her daughter who was pregnant, homeless, and struggling with meth addiction. Despite her challenges, we trusted God to protect the baby. When Chase was born on February 5, 2023, both he and his birth mom tested positive for meth, and Social Services intervened. Chase’s birth mother and father left the hospital, abandoning him.

Chase detoxed in the hospital for a week before being placed with his aunt, who struggled to care for him alongside her own children. At four weeks old, Chase had severe eczema, indigestion, and cradle cap, and was passed between babysitters. I began caring for him regularly, providing the consistent attention he needed, and soon kept him most days and some nights. By May, his aunt could no longer manage, and we took Chase in during the week, with his grandparents caring for him on weekends.

As we grew attached, my husband and I prayed for God’s guidance. We have six children, so taking on another was daunting, but God moved in Lewis’s heart, confirming His plan. At a family meeting with Social Services, Chase's birth mom chose us to raise him—a clear sign of God’s hand at work. We were granted primary custody in February 2024.

Now two years old, Chase is healthy, smart, funny, and thriving, showing no lasting effects from his early exposure to drugs. He’s fully part of our family, adored by his six siblings and supported by loved ones. With his biological parents still unable to care for him, we’re pursuing adoption to make him legally ours. Thank you for considering supporting our journey to give Chase a forever home.
