Blackham is under threat and the best way to combat this is by coming together as a community and addressing the issue. Our strength is us all working together towards a common goal
Over the last 12 months Blackham has experienced an unprecedented level of crime in the form of burglaries, thefts, intimidation and gangs planning crimes
Enough is enough!!!
We are raising funds in order to improve the security of our village to both deter potential criminals and to capture better quality evidence in order to assist the police in their detection and prosecution
The two main areas we planning are to implement high quality CCTV at the 3 entrances to the village which will capture the details and movement of EVERY vehicle entering and leaving the village and plan to support this technology with sufficient signage to warn criminals that they are under surveillance in order to encourage them to operate elsewhere
The above plan is further supported by local Whatsapp groups which regularly share information on suspicious activities as well as providing an SOS facility to support incidents once a 999 call has been made
We have estimated the camera technology and signage for the 3 proposed installations could cost up to £10,000
We are hoping EVERY resident of Blackham will make a contribution.
We are also approaching local councils to make a contribution as well as planning some community fund raising events
