Secure a Home for These Resilient Kids

Paul and Sally assumed permanent care of 8 children after a family crisis occurred in 2022. Due to the difficulties from their previous home, the children had to overcome excessive amounts of trauma and neglect. As small business owners, both Paul and Sally had to take significant steps away from their work to provide the time and care needed to help the children.
Micah (15 years old) – Micah has worked hard to overcome severe anxiety that resulted in two emergency room visits. He was also diagnosed with PANDAS due to chronic, untreated strep throat. Micah has made a full recovery from both. Educationally, he progressed from a preschool level in math to now achieving “A” letter grades in Algebra. He is on track to graduate with high honors. Micah is excited about summer football camp and loves all manner of sports.

Moriah (14 years old) – Moriah suffered from chronic Lymes disease that went untreated for her entire life, resulting in severe joint pain in her knees and ankles. When flare-ups occurred, she could not walk. Moriah is now able to walk pain-free after receiving specialized therapy for 9 months; she is expected to make a full recovery. Moriah is detailed and thriving with her creative writing skills. We consider her our up-and-coming New York Times best-selling author. She is looking forward to continuing her work in both art and writing. Moriah has also worked very hard; she began with a 1st-grade math level education and has since excelled in Pre-Algebra.

Josiah (12 years old) – Josiah was legally blind in one eye due to medical negligence. His brain stopped using his bad eye and relied solely on his good eye; this worsened his condition over the years, and now he wears a specialized contact lens. He has never realized how great it is to be able to see clearly. Josiah thoroughly enjoys Taekwondo and is looking forward to becoming a black belt one day. He is also a very dedicated and hard-working boy. He went from being functionally illiterate to reading proficiently and writing essays.

Chloe (11 years old) – Chloe has worked extremely hard to be able to express herself and her emotions in healthy ways. Through her perseverance and determination, she can now communicate effectively with others. Chloe loves horses and drawing. She looks forward to equine therapy each week and is eager to learn how to ride horses one day. Chloe is excited to join her first-ever summer camp this year.

Abigail (9 years old) – Abigail is overcoming significant issues with her speech development due to neglect. She has been, and is still, working very hard to correct more of the problems with her “R” sounds. She is making ample progress and is very proud of herself and her accomplishments. Abigail enjoys crafting and bicycling and loves summer softball.

Mercy (7 years old) – Mercy has managed to recover from severe night terrors. She is doing a fantastic job with her reading and enjoys playing with her snuggies. She is still working diligently on her handwriting skills, which are progressing very well over time. Mercy is also looking forward to summer camp this year and is excited to spend more time with her best friend.

Eden (5 years old) – Eden has prevailed over the issues she faced from trauma. She no longer struggles with the unsettled outbursts that would last hours. Eden is a pure delight to be around; she loves going on walks and drawing pictures with her sidewalk chalk. She enjoys being a big sister to her little brother, Enoch.

Enoch (2 years old) – Enoch is a happy little boy. He loves to spend time with his older siblings and is constantly repeating everything they say and do. Enoch has plenty of energy, and his favorite activity is building castles with his magnetic blocks. Overall, he is a smiley and happy little guy.

All of the children have worked extremely hard to get where they are today; however, the road is still very challenging, especially without a yard to play in or a home with adequate space. Due to the current housing crisis, all proceeds from this fundraiser will be directed to their housing needs.

We want to thank all of those who have helped us in the past! We would not even be where we are today without you and your care.

Thank you for all of your love and support,
Paul, Sally, Micah, Moriah, Josiah, Chloe, Abigail, Mercy, Eden, and Enoch
