Hello everyone, so as you may or may not know, I am currently 8 months pregnant and have struggled with being homeless for quite some time now.

I was working and renting from my bosses before ending up in this position. I had been hospitalized during my pregnancy due to a spontaneous pneumothorax, caused by my anatomy not supporting and protecting my lungs as it should and also because of the extra pressure on everything due to me being pregnant.

Who I was working for and renting from at the time struggled with alcohol addiction and had threatened my safety and a number of other things after getting discharged from the hospital. Because I had trusted them, there was no lease or written rental agreement, which ultimately led to me being displaced.

I have tried a number of different things to come up with a source of income and to find some sort of stability with a place but haven’t had much luck without having any proof of stability or a place to live. I have applied for as many emergency resources as I could, but nothing has turned up.

Being pregnant and homeless in the wintertime poses serious problems to my health and also puts me at risk for my safety and my baby’s well-being. It is also extremely uncomfortable to have to sleep in a car if I am unable to find a hotel or Airbnb for the night while being pregnant. When I am lucky, I am able to get help from others for a night someplace, but that is only for one night typically and doesn’t last long, and doesn’t help with a long-term solution.

So I am making this to see if anybody would be willing or able to help me out with this. If I reached my goal, I would have enough to pay for a security deposit and first month’s rent in a place, and that would give me enough time to figure out a source of income. Anything helps and is truly appreciated, and every little bit counts and adds up.

It would mean so much to me if I could find some sort of stability before my baby is here so I can get everything set up for him and be comfortable, and not stress about my health and safety due to being misplaced.
