In Loving Memory of a Devoted Partner and Father

On 11/3/25, our hearts were shattered by the unimaginable loss of Thomas Cates, a loved Fiancé and father whose life ended far too soon. At just 28, he leaves behind his Fiancé, Marie Weeks, and their two boys, Thomas A Cates & Ryker R Cates, who were his entire world.

Thomas was the kind of father who didn’t just show up—he showed love. Whether he was teaching the boys how to throw a ball, dance around the house to fun music, or simply sitting on the floor teaching, playing, or laughing with them, his love was steady, present, and full of joy. He worked hard every day to give them a life full of security and hope. His family was his greatest pride and his deepest purpose.

His passing was sudden, heartbreaking, and something no family can ever truly be prepared for. In the midst of grief, Marie now faces the heavy challenge of raising two young boys on her own—emotionally, financially, and spiritually—while also coping with the loss of the man she built a life with.

This GoFundMe has been created to support their future. Our goal is to help provide stability for the boys as they grow—covering school needs, clothes, activities, and the everyday essentials that their father always worked so hard to provide. We want to ensure that Marie does not have to carry this weight alone, and that the boys can continue to grow, learn, and dream the way every child deserves.
