I'd like to remain nameless here so I don't blow my cover. I'm one of Santa's helpers. I was helping Santa sort some mail that was dropped off at a community event in Clay County, Florida. Among the more typical requests for puppies, games, socks, and dinosaurs, I came across a letter from a local single mother who is raising three adopted kids. According to the letter, she'd been 'mostly good' but could explain. She asked Santa for a reliable car, food, and a job.
Due to some detective work on our end, we were able to verify that this is indeed an older lady who has adopted three 'challenging to place' kids. We have already taken steps to provide some immediate food relief, but we'd really love to help this family with some reliable transportation.
We have already received some private contributions toward this goal, but we'd like to (discreetly) cast a wider net in the community. Our confirmation source tells us this is definitely a 'hand-up' as opposed to a 'hand-out'.
Any and all funds contributed here will go directly to this family for viable transportation and other immediate needs.
