Hi. My name is Sebastian Mayled, a Life Scout, and I am fundraising for my Eagle project. I am collecting returnable bottles and cans to raise money, but some family and friends have asked my Mom if they can donate cash, so she started this for me.

I will raise funds to purchase dog bed kits and fleece for cat beds. Once we have enough to purchase at least 20 kits, I will order them and recruit volunteers to help assemble the beds. My beneficiary is Happy Days Dog & Cat Rescue in Michigan and we will donate everything to them.

I chose this as my Eagle project for a lot of reasons. Our dogs have always been rescues and they did not have an easy start to life like some dogs, so I wanted to do something to help rescued animals. We worked with this rescue when we collected and donated pet supplies to them for Christmas when I was a Cub Scout.

Older dogs and bigger breeds are usually in rescues longer because people prefer adopting puppies or smaller dogs. Laying on a crate floor or cement is uncomfortable for the dogs and cats that end up in a rescue for a long time. I wanted my project to help dogs and cats that are still looking for their forever family. I would appreciate any support that you can give towards my project.
