Season of giving Year 3, inspired by Jennifer Diep

This fundraiser is in honour of Jennifer Diep, an incredible person who was known for her kindness and generosity. During the holidays, she would purchase and distribute gift bags to people experiencing homelessness in Calgary.
On March 7, 2017, Jennifer passed away at the age of 22.
Each year following her passing, a group of friends and family have made a collective effort to maintain her gift-giving tradition by collecting donations to put towards filling the gift bags. These bags included essential items such as socks, gloves, toothpaste, soap and more!
Over the past two years, we have been blown away by the tremendous amount of support this fundraiser has received:
- In 2017, we raised over $2700 in cash and item donations.
- In 2018, we raised over $3800 in cash and item donations, filling 120 gift bags.
In 2018, remaining monetary donations went to the Calgary Food Bank, Drop-In and Rehabilitation Centre, and the Women's Emergency Shelter.

In previous years, we collected donations primarily through e-transfer. This year, we have chosen GoFundMe as our donation platform in hopes that our fundraiser reaches people who may not have personally known Jennifer.
We hope this story inspires you to donate and support an incredible cause that both commemorates Jennifer and her generosity, and meaningfully gives back to individuals in need.
