Sean Thompson's wife and kids

Dear Family and Friends,

This fundraiser will support and cover costs for Alex, Grace and Brayden as they grieve the loss of their husband and father, Sean Thompson.

Sean “Leche” Thompson passed suddenly on Friday, November 18th, 2022, at the age of 41. Sean was a well-known and beloved baseball player and coach in the South Bay, sharing his passion for baseball with many younger generations in the area. Sean was a loving father and friend who passed away surrounded by family and friends.

All donations will go to Sean's wife and kids to help them through this difficult time. All the love and support that has been received thus far is appreciated.

Sean suffered from bipolar disorder, clinical depression, anxiety and addiction. The way we talk about people and their illnesses affects the people themselves and how we treat the illness. In the case of mental illness there is so much fear, ignorance, stigma and hurtful attitudes that the people who suffer from mental illness needlessly suffer further. Our society does not provide the resources that are needed to adequately understand and treat mental illness. In Sean’s case, the medicines that he was prescribed to manage these illnesses were not enough. Someday a cure will be found, but until then, we need to support and be compassionate to those with mental illness, every bit as much as we support those who suffer from cancer, heart disease or any other illness. Please know that Sean was a good father, good person that loved his children and the thousands of the kids that he coached over many years. A memorial will be held Sunday November 27th from 11:00AM to 2:00PM at Lighthouse Memorial - Rice Center,
