SDSU Sports MBA 2025: Giving Back in the Dominican Republic
Donation protected
As the SDSU Sports MBA Class of 2025, we’re preparing as a cohort to travel to the Dominican Republic for an opportunity far beyond academics. We’re proud to raise funds for two incredible nonprofit organizations that are doing transformative work in the Dominican Republic:
TECHO: TECHO is a youth-led nonprofit organization that works across Latin America and the Caribbean to overcome poverty in informal settlements. Through the joint efforts of volunteers and community members, TECHO constructs transitional housing and facilitates sustainable development programs focused on education, employment, and community empowerment. Their model is built on partnership, with families playing an active role in the process, and their impact is visible in the thousands of homes and lives changed across the region. TECHO addresses housing insecurity in the Dominican Republic by building safe, dignified shelters and advocating for long-term policy change and social inclusion.
FEM Dominica: FEM is a Dominican-based nonprofit dedicated to the advancement of women and gender equality in vulnerable communities. Founded in 1989, FEM works at the grassroots level to empower women through programs in education, reproductive health, economic development, and leadership training. Their initiatives focus on breaking cycles of poverty and gender-based violence by equipping women with the tools, resources, and support networks they need to build independent, empowered lives. FEM’s impact is felt across the country through its community centers, advocacy efforts, and ongoing commitment to social justice and women's rights. Learn more at femdominicana.org.
100% of the funds we raise will go directly to TECHO and FEM to support their essential work. Your contribution will help build homes, fund education, support health services, and ultimately create opportunity and dignity for those who need it most. Thank you for supporting us!
