Hello, I'm Christina, and I'm here to share my heart-wrenching journey of fighting for my baby girl Hazel's life. I received the call no parent wants to hear, informing me that Hazel's surgery was unsuccessful and that the doctors didn't think she would make it through the week. As a single mother with four children, the situation has been incredibly challenging, both emotionally and financially. I've created a GoFundMe campaign to help with basic necessities and hotel stays, so I can spend more time with Hazel during this critical time.

Hazel's Struggle:

Hazel was born early due to a heart condition that caused a small hole in her heart. The doctors performed surgery to address the issue, which appeared successful at first, but soon complications arose, and her left side of the heart began to fail. Hazel has been fighting for her life ever since, with multiple instances of coding and needing CPR to survive. She's now on the transplant list, and while I applied for assistance, I was denied, leaving me to face this difficult situation alone.

My Support System:

The only support I have during this challenging time is my sister, who drives me to see Hazel each week. The long drive has put a significant strain on her car, and she had to spend $5,000 to fix it due to the constant back and forth. With Hazel's current critical condition, my sister and I rushed to UCLA after receiving the call that the surgery was unsuccessful. When I arrived, I found my baby girl motionless and unresponsive, surrounded by machines and the constant beeping of medical equipment. It's a sound that still rings in my ears today.

A Mother's Struggle:

As a mother, not being able to stay with my baby girl during this critical time has been incredibly challenging, both mentally and emotionally. My other children ask when Hazel will come home, why I have to go, and why they can't see her. It's been tough to find the right words to explain the situation to them. When I saw Hazel motionless and unresponsive, I wanted to scream and pinch myself, hoping it was all just a terrible nightmare.

A Call for Help:

I don't know how much longer her little body can keep fighting, and I want to cherish every moment I have with her.
