Please help Scovia and her gorgeous children

Hi Family and Friends,

I am asking for help for someone very dear to my heart in Uganda. It's to fund the basic human need of somewhere to live.

I have known Scovia since I was living in Uganda 25years ago. She was 10yrs old at the time, and her father had bought her to Hoima (the town where I was living), from their village, to seek medical treatment for an awful skin disease she was covered in, from head to toe. She was very sick and needed urgent medical care. We were able to fund her medical treatment and she was in hospital for 3 months. Once discharged, she came to live with me for a year, to enable access to the ongoing treatment required, before then starting school for the first time. Not long after, her father died, and as result she had to go back to the village to care for her younger siblings, as her mother had also died 2 years earlier.

Sadly we lost contact, as she was deep in the village and their was no form of contact available.

More recently we are back in touch! Whilst it's been hard to hear about her 15years of living a very difficult life, with a lot of trauma, it was also beautiful to see her looking well and having a loving partner and 4 beautiful children. Very sadly in January of this year, her 4 children became 3. Peredas, her little 5yr old boy died, a needless death, from an illness so easily treated over here. He was a bright, funny and loving little lad. So very tragic.

Scovia and her family currently have no home of their own. They live hand to mouth everyday, and work tirelessly to raise the £8 a month rent they pay on the dilapidated mud house they currently reside in.

I am desperate to ensure they can at least have their own plot of land where they can grow enough food to live on, sell remaining produce to support their kids education, and build a simple house so they don't have to worry about rent every month. This could be achieved with £3500, and would totally transform their lives.

Please can you help?

I acknowledge that there are ever increasing demands on peoples money, but would really appreciate anything you feel able to donate to provide Scovia and her family with such a basic and fundamental need in life.

I am going back out to Uganda next month and it would be just amazing to get the land purchased whilst I'm there and see their lives improve for a brighter and sustainable future. Thank you xxxx
