Scoutmaster Stang Assistance Fund

Donation protected
The Scoutmaster Stang Assistance Fund was founded in 2020 to celebrate the life of Former Scoutmaster James (Jim) Richard Stang who passed away on January the twenty-sixth 2020. The sole purpose of the fund is to spread the joy of the Scouting BSA program by assisting underprivileged youth and adults eligible for registration as a youth, with removing some of the financial burden related to completing the trail to Eagle. Simply put, this organization is to assist those who would otherwise not be able to attend the life changing activities that the Scouting BSA program provides. Please donate what you are able to to support this wonderful fund. If you know of a Scout, a youth, or adult that would benefit from a scholarship from the Scoutmaster Stang Assistance Fund please contact us at [email redacted] to request the appropriate scholarship application.   About our namesake: Vigil Honor Member & Eagle Scout James Richard Stang, son of Eagle Scout Richard Stang; grandson of Eagle Scout Leo Stang; father to Eagle Scout Adam James Stang, Eagle Scout Timothy James Stang, and Vigil Honor Member & Eagle Scout David James Stang; and Grandfather to potential future Eagle Scouts Cecily Rainier Stang, Eloise Irene Stang, and Daisy Alice Stang; passed away among his family on Sunday January the Twenty-Sixth Two Thousand and Twenty C.E. at 5:15 CST after suffering a stroke on Tuesday January the Twenty-First. He is survived by his wife former Assistant Scoutmaster Karen Stang, his eldest son former Stearns Scout Camp staff member Adam Stang (wife Brooke Stang, and daughters Cecily Stang and Daisy Stang), his middle son Timothy Stang, and his youngest son former Crew Advisor David Stang (wife Alexandra Stang, and daughter Eloise Stang). His legacy includes the countless youth he mentored while holding several positions in the Boy Scouts of America program, including Cubmaster & Scoutmaster, and passing on his love of cooking as a Cooking Merit Badge counselor. His continuing legacy is spread by his mentored youth now being Scout leaders themselves.  Feel free to donate here, or mail checks to  Scoutmaster Stang Assistance Fund C/O David Stang 706 2nd St NE Little Falls, MN 56345 From his sons: “Please remember all the good times from Scouting.
