Scott and Bri's Missionary Trip

Donation protected

Hi Friends and Family,

Bri and I are thrilled to share that as of this January we have been accepted into the Youth With A Mission program in Kona, Hawaii. YWAM (pronounced WHY-wham) is a diverse global Christian youth movement made up of many nations, backgrounds, ages, and
cultures; sharing their faith through meeting practical, spiritual and physical needs of those less fortunate (ywam.org ). The five-month program begins this July and runs until the end of November. We are reaching out to share with you: this good news, our story and how you can partner with us if you feel led to!

Just reaching this point has been quite the journey and has certainly helped build our faith. A little background on Bri and I: We first met on July 18 th , 2016 as we both walked into a church life group about 20 minutes late (we are working on being more punctual!). At
the time, I had been attending the group for nearly two years, so I immediately noticed the pretty new girl in the group. We chatted a bit after the meeting and I was impressed by Bri’s boldness when she asked for my phone number to “play volleyball sometime.” We started dating one month later and are now going on over seven months as a couple. Over this time, our faith has grown tremendously as we seek to honor God and put Him first in everything we do. Both of us strongly feel we have a calling to serve others, so we have been praying regularly for the right opportunity to be revealed to us. After hearing YWAM come up repeatedly in various conversations, we felt it was something worth looking into. Through extensive research, a meeting with current “YWAMers” and continued prayer we
are now confident this is where the Lord is leading us. We have heard only great things about YWAM and are very excited for what is to come next.

When we embark on this amazing adventure, it will begin with a three-month Discipleship Training School in Kona, Hawaii (I know Hawaii … sounds rough, right? Believe us when we say we’re there for the training and plan on working hard at it!). While in training, we will spend our time in a 10 to 15-person team increasing our knowledge of the Bible, learning more about missionary work and most importantly, growing our relationship with God. We’ll also get the added benefit of hearing from respected Christian speakers from around the world. This experience is meant to prepare us for the next phase of YWAM, an exciting two-month missionary outreach. During this mission our team will sail to some of the most isolated places in the South Pacific to minister to local villagers. In these remote areas we’ll be busy sharing God’s love—socially, medically and spiritually. To give you a better idea of what our mission outreach will entail please view this YWAM video:

In closing, we’d like to humbly ask for your support. To make this a reality, we will need help from our friends and family through prayer, words of encouragement, and of course, financial giving. We understand that not everyone is in a position to support us financially, but if you feel led to, please know we will greatly appreciate any contribution you could make—no matter how small. Either way, we’d like to point out how very blessed we are to have you in our lives. You have been, without a doubt, a huge part of shaping us into the people we are today. Thank you and we LOVE you!

Below are a few VERY important (and practical) final items to read, followed by the financial breakdown of our trip:

 To receive financial support we have set up this Go Fund Me account. Here you can make a donation, track our progress and get updates as we get closer to July!
