Vieira School of BJJ & English for Kids in Brazil
Donation protected
Brazil was the only country in South America to send troops to fight alongside the Allies in World War II. The United States became the first nation to acknowledge Brazil's independence. These are the common historical threads that bind the two friendly nations. I appreciate Americans for making me a proud citizen of their country through their love of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Most Americans are unaware of how much Brazilians adore America and its people. Our goal is to learn English while mirroring and consuming American culture. A foreigner, primarily an American, is rarely seen by most Brazilians. After starting a successful BJJ school in Sarasota, Florida, I now want to give back to the Brazilian community in my home country by providing kids the chance to study our Jiu-Jitsu in English along with my Florida students! We want to raise money for and support a non-profit Jiu-Jitsu school in one of the poorest part of the country, Paraíba State. We want to provide the same competition program and use jiu-jitsu to spark their curiosity about learning English and everything there is to know about the American way of life. We will establish a virtual and physical exchange program through special trips to spread our philosophy. While our adult students visit our school in Brazil to have the opportunity to teach lessons there and have a great time while doing tourism, we will have our young students interact and foster friendships. We require assistance to help with the maintenance of their studio, which is also a church, donating gis and FOOD. Every child receives a free meal upon attendance of each class. To some of them, it is the most nutritious meal of their day. We will provide scholarships and participate in competitions for most children between the ages of six and fifteen. Every donation will result in posting your photo and name as the School of Jiu-Jitsu founders on a special banner. While it's acceptable to make an anonymous donation, you might want to consider sharing your name to highlight the exceptional American generosity and volunteerism to motivate our students. The more photos and names we have on the banner, the more real this dream will look.
