School Bus to the EPA

We are trying to quickly raise $2866 to take 45 students from Melrose Leadership Academy,  and 130 students from Urban Promise Academy to the EPA "Listening" Session on the repeal of the Clean Power Plan. The students will have a chance to testify and will also stage a theatrical/visual protest outside to raise the stakes on the current EPA's utter failure to "listen" to the needs of youth, in particular youth of color. Having the school bus would allow these young people's voices to be heard.

Students acting on this in a powerful/ visual way has a chance to be THE story that gets told about the day (on media and in people's minds.) The EPA under Pruitt is not in any meaningful sense "listening," but other people are definitely watching what happens-- from Jerry Brown to Gavin Newsom-- so if the message is loud and clear that the young people won't take this kind of disregard for their planet and future, that has a powerful impact
