School Aid For Children of Urubamba

Hi, my name is Max Zator. I am currently a junior at Lyons Township High School. This past summer, I was able to travel to multiple areas in Perú through Travel For Teens. I went with a group of high school students from all over the US. On this trip, I explored Peruvian culture and completed many different service projects. While witnessing one of the Seven Wonders was pretty breathtaking, the highlight of my trip was helping out at a school in Urubamba. Located in the Sacred Valley, this elementary school had kids from ages 4-12. While our group was there, we furnished classrooms with desks and chairs that we helped construct and played games with the school children. The children loved to play soccer, volleyball and other games outside, however, the equipment they had wasn't getting the job done. Their soccer goals were rusty and didn't have nets, the soccer balls and volleyballs were old and the kids' sports jerseys were worn out. They also lacked a sufficient amount of school supplies (the principal said that this was the area where help was needed most). I know $1400 is a lot to ask for, but it will cover all the essential school supplies for all 8 classrooms, the sports equipment and shipping costs. The children were full of joy when we were with them, and I got an eye-opening experience out of it. Seeing their happy faces is why I want to help them out, they were so kind and welcoming to me. I want to make a difference for these kids, but I need your help! Thank you for anything you have to contribute!!!

I really appreciate everything and I will hopefully be able to send this care package to them by the start of their school year in March!  Before I send the package, I will post an update with an itemized list of the contents.   If the school provides me any photos, I will also post those.
