We are excited to let you know that we have begun the process towards adopting a child. Before we had even started dating, God had been shaping us for this decision. Since the age of 8 Rachel had always desired to adopt children. Kurt had also known that God was calling him minister to orphans, partly inspired by the examples of heroes of faith, such as George Müeller, Reese Howell, and Rolland and Heidi Baker.
We have signed up for a program known as, “Local Infant Adoption” through an organization called, Christian Family Adoptions (CFA). CFA works to help mothers in crisis, whether a mother chooses to have her child be given towards adoption or not. Through CFA we would eventually be connected with a mom who has personally chosen us to become her child’s parents. Part of the fees for this program involve paying for the mother’s health care, living situation (if applicable), and other needs.
We would love to have you partner with us in any of the following - prayer, supporting us financially, and in spreading the word. As you can image, we would appreciate prayers for speed and grace in the process, the physical, emotional, and spiritual health of the child, and supernatural provision.
The program we have signed up for costs $26,000, and before we can begin the process, we need to raise at least $7,800 within the next 3-6 months.
