Schmidt’s Van Fund

Gabe and Courtney Schmidt have built a family through the process of foster care and adoption, and now have six beautiful and strong children to call their own that are all siblings and are all adopted from foster care.  


Starting back in the Fall of 2013, Gabe and Courtney Schmidt started fostering a sibling set of two, that was almost immediately followed by the placement of another sibling, this time a newborn.  


The original precious sibling set, George and Rosa, were in need of a forever home and Gabe and Courtney felt the call to adopt them.  As they were beginning that process, the baby girl, Emma came along.  So with open hearts, they adopted all three of those siblings in the Spring and Fall of 2014. 


Over the next four years, Gabe and Courtney would foster, and eventually also adopt, three more siblings in a tremendous effort to keep the siblings together. Titus, Grace, and Luke came along one at a time in 2016 and 2017.  Titus joined them in February 2016 and was adopted in March 2017.  Grace and Luke joined the family in October 2016 and October 2017.  The final adoption of Grace and Luke recently took place on Friday, June 22nd, 2018!  


Gabe and Courtney felt called to keep these siblings together and have done an amazing job as parents. 


However, having six kids aged 7 and under when you planned to have two can be a difficult financial challenge. Currently, the Schmidt’s are forced to drive two vehicles when getting their family to a location. Their current mini van is unable to fit SIX car seats! We are attempting to raise funds so this family can get a van to accommodate all six kids. Please consider giving to help this family who has helped so many others!
