Schaeffer’s Trail Life USA Freedom Project

I’m fundraising to build a bike repair stand and picnic table at North Mecklenburg park. The purpose of my project is to complete my Trail Life USA Freedom award, which is the highest achievement for a Trailman. Everyone is familiar with Boy Scouts, and the Freedom award is equivalent to Eagle Scout. I hope that completing Freedom will demonstrate Christ's love to others around me, especially my fellow Trailmen who are also working toward the goal. One other unique requirement to complete this project is learning how to lead others toward a common goal, so I am requesting that all of my Trail Life friends and any other friends to please join me in this worthy opportunity to serve! I chose North Meck park because it is where I started my mountain biking adventures. This repair stand will serve as a community service resource that I would have loved to use during my early stages of beginning to mountain bike. I think it will be a great contribution to our local community. Depending on amount of contributions, my goal is to add the tire pump.

So, big picture, the project will include preparation of the ground area where we will pour a concrete pad about 7x9 feet, where the repair stand will be bolted and serve as a platform for repairs and maintenance. Then, a picnic table stained for long-term use will provide an area for preparing for a ride and hanging out afterwards.
