Scary to Smooth: Beverly Needs a New Driveway!

Hi there! Our dear friend, Beverly Guice, mentioned in passing conversation that her steep gravel driveway needs to be paved. She's on a limited income, and we really want to help our precious friend! Please continue reading to understand why it's important to us and important to Bev.

Beverly, who is disabled and walks with the assistance of a walker due to Cerebral Palsy, does not drive. She relies on the help of family and friends for transportation, but the effects of erosion over time on the driveway have caused problems for the generous and willing friends who give her rides. For example, if it rains, Beverly does not go anywhere for 2-3 days to let it dry out, or her drivers risk getting stuck. She is concerned that continued problems caused by her gravel driveway may eventually impact the ability of some individuals to continue being able to provide transportation for her. She also mentioned it's a concern should she have a medical emergency and need first responders.

As you can see, this driveway really is an important component to Beverly's ability to enjoy community with others and have a good quality of life. Her relatives have done some DIY repairs over the years, including adding extra gravel and limestone. However, the cost for brand new pavement is too much to pay at this time. We are down to a new, completely paved driveway being necessary instead of only desirable. Beverly has done her leg work and gotten reputable quotes. The best quote is currently $6,850. We cannot do it alone.

She was a special education teacher and also held down a second job at McDonald's before retiring 5 years ago due to her health concerns.
