Scarlett and The Ronald McDonald House...
Donation protected
We’re taking on a sponsored walk from King’s College Hospital in London to the Dolphin Pub in Hastings to raise money for Scarlett and her family, as well as the Ronald McDonald House.
There'll be a group of us completing this 70+ mile hike from South London to the South Coast, over 4 days this October.
On the 31st of May 2024, 9-year-old Scarlett suffered a sudden stroke, at her gymnastic class, caused by an AVM (arteriovenous malformation). Since that day, her life — and her family’s — has been turned upside down. She’s undergone multiple life-saving surgeries, skin grafts and consultations and has spent much of the last 14 months in and out of hospital.
Because the stroke severely affected the right side of her brain, it has affected the left side of her body physically. Meaning she's had to learn how to do everything again. All of this has meant she now has left-sided hemiplegia and hemiplegic cerebral palsy.
Throughout it all, Scarlett has shown incredible strength and courage. We’re walking in support of her journey, to help ease the financial and emotional strain on her family, and to give back to the Ronald McDonald House, who have been a vital support during her long hospital stays.
Every step we take is for Scarlett — please support us however you can!
*Donations will be split 50/50 between Scarlett and The Ronald McDonald House charities.
