Scam Recovery and Relief for a Recent Widow

Hi, my name is Lori, and I am asking for help to raise funds to help my mother recover from a recent scam she was the victim of. Although she would rather not share the specific amount, she lost a quite significant amount of money that she did not have to spare.

This scam started while my father (her husband) was in the hospital receiving treatment for cancer that had metastasized to his bones. While trying to continue working, and also supporting my Dad in the hospital, these bad actors preyed on her vulnerability.

In the days that followed, my Father passed away. Instead of focusing on grief and recovery, my Mom has valiantly assisted the authorities in making progress toward catching these bad actors.

Meanwhile, my mother is out all of this money, which should have been used to pay for funeral expenses, pay taxes, pay down a loan, or to repair her century-old farmhouse to better condition. Or for any number of things.

It is a hard thing to ask for money, but any contribution will be appreciated. And please share this story with your family and friends to prevent similar situations from occurring in the future.
