Say 'No' to BioGas HGV Refuelling Station at Commonhead

Liddington Parish Council is taking legal action against Swindon Borough Council with the objective of overturning the planning approval decision made on 10 June 2025.

The planning approval will see the development of a BioGas HGV Refuelling Station at Commonhead. HGVs will access this facility from the Purley Road. It will run 24 x 7 and at a peak times there will be more than 23 lorries an hour using the facility.

Liddington Parish Council believes that an approval was given without fully recognising the impact on the National Landscape, local traffic, light polution, the Great Western Hospital and public safety. Liddington Parish Council also believes that there are other, more appropriate sites for this facility.
