Sawyer's Fundraiser for March of Dimes

As many of you know, we lost our daughter, Sawyer Marie Makinen, on January 3rd, 2021. After a complicated pregnancy, Kayla went into labor at 20 weeks. Throughout the pregnancy, there was a lot of unknowns and confusion. We wish we would have been more educated on possible complications and outcomes.
Losing a child is something you cannot fathom. It is not supposed to happen. We grieve for those who lose a child at any stage in life. For us, our Sawyer never got the chance to experience all of life’s moments. All of our dreams of firsts were with her. Our hopes and dreams died a little when she did.
With Mother’s Day and her due date approaching, we wanted to find a way to honor her. We have chosen to do this through asking for donations this month to March of Dimes.
March of Dimes leads the fight for the health of all Moms and babies. It would mean the world to us if you took a moment to learn about this organization and donate if you are able to.
