Hello and welcome to my GoFundMe page for my upcoming trip to work in Sri Lanka with Saving Ganesh, a non-profit focused on saving the endangered Asian Elephants (See video for more information on this incredible, heartwarming organization).
I have always been drawn to help animals and to work in a third world country. Graduating high school I had a huge desire to see the world and gain higher perspective of the disparities and contrasts as well as to offer my services. I wanted to more deeply develop myself before setting my sights on college.
I was introduced to Philip Price Executive Director for Saving Ganesh, a non-profit organization that uses the power of film and technology, to bring awareness to the plight of the Asian Elephant. You can read more about the organization here— http://www.savingganesh.org
After you learn more you may begin to understand my passion. It called to me!
Philip recognized my enthusiasm about the environment and creatures of this planet. He educated me about the Saving Ganesh mission, what they are doing in Asia and how I can be of service. I recognized this to be one of those life-altering opportunities and jumped for the chance. This trip is an opportunity to investigate possible career options and callings, as well as work with elephants (so excited about this!).
While working in Sri Lanka (and possibly India), with elephant conservation I will be exploring career interests and options to figure out exactly what I want to focus on for college and a career path. I have been working multiple jobs and saving everything I can. I now have my plane ticket in hand but still have a little further to go to depart March 13th, 2016. The money raised goes to in program costs and basic living necessities while working for Saving Ganesh.
Coming from the deepest place in my heart I thank you all for your support and faith in me. Every individual who has donated to my fundraiser thank you. Please know that you have helped a hard working, determined young woman to saving the endangered Asian Elephants and to dive into deep personal discovery of her career path.
With love,
Hayden
