Saving a Legacy

Thirteen years ago, my family completed construction of our home, located in a walnut orchard on family property in Morgan Hill, California.

In October 2004, just three months after moving in, my wife Shelli (a marriage-family therapist with a thriving practice) suffered a debilitating stroke. She was 42 years old. Shelli lost 90% of her speech function, she couldn’t read or write, even walking was a struggle. After spending a month at Stanford’s Stroke Center for rehabilitation, she moved on to the real recovery, which lasted more than three years.

Since then, Shelli has made incredible strides in her recovery, but a complete recovery remains elusive. She is disabled and unable to work. To survive the aftermath of Shelli’s stroke and the enormous medical bills, we took out a second mortgage on our home. This mortgage is now in foreclosure. The deadline is July 3rd.

This property has been in our family since 1892, and our house has been a dream of Shelli’s since she was a child. It’s everything to us.

Any assistance at all would be appreciated. Our mortgage needs to be paid in full by July 3rd.
