Saving Steve and Nancy Hampton's Home
To all those who know and love Steve and Nancy Hampton, I'm calling out for help on their behalf in this very frustrating time. Some know, but most do not, because Steve is not much of a complainer. But he and Nancy are in a pretty difficult situation because of someone was believed to have embezzled millions from their company. Thankfully, the truth came out, and Steve was not held liable. However, it did cause them to have to shut down their company and file receivership. In addition, now, they are just trying to save their home. This has come as quite a blow as they had originally paid it off in the 90's. However under advisement of others they put out a line of credit against their home in an attempt to save the business. unfortunately it didn't work, and that is how we find ourselves here.
They have been in this battle for over a year now. And yesterday, they got some difficult news. An hour after getting the news, Steve text me the following:
"In order to save our home, we need to either reinstate the HELOC with Banner Bank, by paying them a lump sum of $33,000 or use funds to find a way to alternatively save our residence from foreclosure (for example-file a chapter 13 bankruptcy) Apart from a gift from the Lord, we would need to borrow this amount right away, from someone and begin to make monthly payments.
This would then enable us to either resume $1,500. per month Interest-only HELOC payments to Banner Bank for the next 2 years or allow us to make alternative payments through a modification or chapter 13 repayment plan.
This would enable us to stay in our home, and recover from this financial devastation. We are currently generating enough income to make this work.
In addition, we would set up payment plan for back Property Taxes - $15k, which are only in arrears because our attorney was going to roll that into our loan. That strategy has changed.
Also, we will begin to pay down our Credit Cards strategically, to wipe out the $88,000. run up by our business partner during the embezzlement.
The first step is to meet the week’s end deadline of securing $33K. to reinstate the HELOC or provide us the opportunity to reorganize to save our house from foreclosure. Please pray with us, and let us know anything you hear from the Lord.
We believe God will provide!
Steve & Nancy Hampton"

After further discussion, Steve was able to push the deadline from Monday, March 16th which the posts had originally stated to March 25, 2020.
